We Welcome our Equine Travelers

Stepping Stone Ranch is centrally located surrounded by Rhode Island’s 1700 acre Arcadia Management State Park with endless dirt roads, trails, rock ledges, rivers, ponds and breathtaking New England scenery. Arcadia Park is the state’s largest recreational area, and is located in the western part of the state. Although the forests of West Greenwich are displaced from the ocean tides, the park has been voted time and again at multiple venues for any outdoorsman destination. Horse lovers have been riding these woods for decades, and the Ranch offers all access to it’s beauty.

You bring the cowboy/cowgirl attitude and your own portable fencing to enjoy your camping space. Rest easy knowing our camping area features a fence that encloses the area from the street. Trailheads are easily accessible, and maps are available for use.

Additional Things-to-Know:

  • At this time, the farm does not have trailer hook-ups, so all guest campers must be self-contained or run off a generator (no restricted hours), However, we are conveniently located next to Oak Embers Campground, which is a full service facility with electric and water hookups if you would prefer such amenities. They are not affiliated with us, please call them directly for service.

  • Many state parks have closed or limited camping due to Covid19, we have opened our farm so that horse people can still enjoy the beautiful riding season. Please understand we stay in compliance with our insurance regulations and pay accordingly. Camping fees and rules allow us to continue this service and we appreciate your understanding.

  • We have limited space available for campers and guests. Our camping area encompasses a large field with a low sloping hill,  but fills quickly and reservations are required. First come, First serve basis, we strongly suggest early planning to reserve a spot.

To Make Reservations:

The Ranch requires a minimum 2 week notice for reservations in most situations.

If you plan on renting stalls and have more than 2 horses, a 3 week call-ahead would be appreciated to accommodate space.

Please call directly or email us.

Payment due in full upon arrival using check or credit card.

If you have more detailed questions that were not addressed, please feel free to call or email us. We are a safety-first barn atmosphere and expect guests to respect our barn rules upon arrival and become part of our extended barn family! We have many regular visitors that have become “Come Again Friends” that visit us on a regular yearly schedule and we love hearing all the stories from the road!

Hope to see you soon! Happy Trails!
